Lisbon and its metropolitan area has a Subtropical-Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification: Csa), with short and very mild winters and warm summers. According to Troll-Paffen climate classification, Lisbon has a warm-temperate subtropical climate (Warmgemäßigt-subtropisches Zonenklima). According to Siegmund/Frankenberg climate classification, Lisbon has a subtropical climate.

In the coldest month – January, typically the temperature ranges from 10 to 19 °C (50 to 66 °F) during the day and 4 to 11 °C (39 to 52 °F) at night. In the warmest month – August, the typically temperature ranges from 24 to 33 °C (75 to 91 °F) during the day and about 19 °C (66 °F) at night.
